Accessibility Statement

Last updated: 17 July 2026

Private Hedge is committed to making privatehedge.co usable by as many people as possible, including those who rely on assistive technology. Our audience includes people reading on a range of devices and with a range of eyesight, and we design for that from the start.

Our conformance target

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA — the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines published by the W3C, and the level referenced by the UK Equality Act 2010 and the European Accessibility Act (via EN 301 549).

What we do

  • Readable by design. Body text on articles is set at 18px with generous line spacing and a comfortable line length, with high contrast between text and background. We test our colours against the AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 for normal text) and darken any that fall short.
  • Keyboard access. Every interactive control can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone. A visible "Skip to main content" link is the first thing keyboard and screen-reader users reach on each page, and focus is clearly indicated.
  • Structure. Pages use proper headings, landmarks (a single main region per page) and labelled controls, so assistive technology can navigate them.
  • Images. Meaningful images carry descriptive alternative text; purely decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
  • No traps. No pop-ups, no autoplay, no motion for its own sake; we respect the "reduce motion" setting in your operating system.
  • Prints cleanly. Journal articles are designed to print as plain, readable documents.

Known limitations

We are honest about the edges we are still working on:

  • The booking window is provided by a third party (Calendly) and loads only when you choose to open it. Its accessibility is largely outside our control; if you have any difficulty booking, please email us and we will arrange your session directly.
  • Risk-signal colours (green / amber / red) are used to convey status. Where we use them, the same information is always available in text as well as colour, so nothing depends on colour alone.

If you find something that does not meet the standard above, we would like to know — it helps us fix it.
